US delivery quotes: what is included?
For US orders, our intended delivery approach is Delivered Duty Paid (DDP): the agreed quote includes delivery and the applicable import duties and taxes to the named destination. The exact total must be confirmed for the object and delivery address before payment.
Ask for the written quote to state what is included. Oversize transport, special handling and delivery access may require individual arrangements.
Reference: French Customs — Incoterms 2020. There is no single duty rate that applies to every vintage object.
Packing fragile vintage objects
Packing should follow the object, not the other way around. Plates need separated surfaces and supported edges; glassware needs room and protection around each rim and stem; detachable lighting parts need separate wrapping and identification.
For a clock, the mechanism and loose components need appropriate securing. Heavier pieces may require reinforced packing or a specialist carrier. The agreed quote will identify the shipping method and insurance arrangements.
How long does delivery to the US take?
Preparation and transport are separate stages. Fragile or large pieces can take additional time to pack, and customs processing can affect the journey.

Return terms to confirm before ordering
Review the photographs, dimensions, condition report and intended use of the piece. Ask about any detail that affects your decision, including restoration, replaced parts or specialist installation.
The return terms, return shipping arrangements and refund process must be supplied before a sale is concluded. Lo Cantou is currently preparing its first collection; online checkout and binding sales terms are not yet available.
If an item arrives damaged after an agreed sale, preserve the packaging and take photographs of the parcel and the object before contacting the seller promptly.
Customs & documentation
Country of manufacture, material, age and classification can affect import treatment. Buying an object in France does not by itself prove that it was made there.
The commercial description and supporting documents should match the individual object. We do not apply a blanket “antique” classification or assume that every older piece receives the same customs treatment.
