What does dresser mean in the listing?
Furniture names vary between markets. A listing may describe a chest of drawers with a mirror, a dressing table or another storage form. Use the photographs and dimensions to establish the actual configuration instead of relying on the word alone.
Record the cabinet height and depth, total height with the mirror, and the projection of supports or feet. Ask whether a stool, removable top or other accessory is included. A styled photograph can show objects that are not part of the sale.
Were the mirror and cabinet made together?
Ask what supports the claim that they form an original set. Compare the wood, finish, proportions and attachment points, while remembering that repairs and refinishing can change their appearance. A later combination may be usable but should be described as such.
Request photographs of the back, mirror supports and fixings. Establish whether the glass has been replaced and whether any decorative parts are loose. Do not infer that original-looking screws or matching color prove every component shares the same date.
Drawers, mirror movement and everyday use
Check drawer operation and usable internal depth. Ask about loose runners, splits, replaced handles and repairs to the feet or carcass. Distinguish marks on the top from damage affecting the structure or the support of the mirror.
